An 18th birthday is such a special occasion that it deserves a really special card, especially a hand-made card. So I've got these two special 18th birthday card templates for you - that look stunning but are actually easy to make!
The cards include a cut-out design on the outer card, a plain inner card, and a plain envelope - you will need 3 A4 or Letter-sized sheets of cardstock to make each card (including the envelope).
The cards cut flat on the standard Cricut mat (not the card mat) - and need to have the fold lines scored which can be done by the cutting machine or by hand if you don't have a scoring tool. It's easy to do but there are some specific steps you need to take to set it up before you send the project to cut - but I do have the full instructions for you on this page - they're designed for Cricut users, but if you have another type of machine they're still helpful as they let you know the steps you need to follow on your own machine. The page also discusses choosing a scoring tool for your Cricut and cutting manually (without using your machine), too.
Once you have everything cut and scored, I have a craft tutorial here to help you fold and assemble the card and envelope...
The finished card should end up around 12 x 12 cm (approx. 4.75 x 4.75 inches) with an envelope that's a little larger.
I've made up two of each of the 18th birthday cards (two floral designs, two stars designs) to show you what they're like and also to help you choose colours for your own card project - I'll share the photos below and also share which cardstocks and settings I used for my cuts.
The template for the floral 18th birthday card is the dark pink/red one - you can see it in the photo below...
I chose a bold pink-red for the main part of the card to look confident, fun, and contemporary - and I added a white inner card to give a really good contrast with the main colour and show the design off well.
The purpley-pink envelope is quite an unusual colour combination that gives it a bit of zing that I think really gives a 'pop' to the whole design.
The cardstock I used for the envelope actually has an 'ombre' gradient effect so you can see it's a bit more purpley-pink on one side and a little more salmon-pink on the other - this is only subtle here and is just because I thought it was fun. I'll share the actual cardstock in the list of materials a bit lower down.
For my alternative colour idea for the card, I chose a pretty lemon-yellow and paired that with an 'ombre' pinky-purple cardstock for the inner card and a pinky-orange envelope (also 'ombre') - see the photo below...
I think this looks really fresh, tropical and summery and the gradient effect (ombre) makes it look a bit more special and unusual.
I made the two floral 18th cards with my Cricut Maker and:

I've used more traditionally-masculine colours for the stars-design card template, even though it could easily be used for a woman or a man, as I already included very feminine colours for the floral card, so that you can have a range of colour ideas for the cards, depending on how you want to use them.
You can, of course, pick any of your own colour choices for either or both of the cards and get to create your own unique look to suit your recipient - it's one of the best things about making your own handmade cards!
The template you'll get for the stars-design 18th birthday card is the teal-blue one - see below. This is a lovely vibrant teal blue for the outer card, a white inner card for contrast, and a bright green envelope. The look is colourful, modern, and fun!
My alternative colour idea for the card is a gold/tan outer card with a white inner card (for contrast) and a rich brown envelope. This is a really masculine colour option (although I know there are lots of women who would love it too), but it does also have a really cool retro vibe to it, which I really like.
For both cards, I used my Cricut Maker and:
