I've made these two splendid 50th birthday card templates for you - there's two different designs (available separately) - one that's floral and one that's stars so it's great for men or others who aren't big fans of pretty flowers.
Both cards use the same basic card template - it's just the front design that's different. So you get to choose which one you think your recipient would most like to receive!
The card template makes a square card that's around 12 x 12 cm (4.75 x 4.75 inches) when completed, with an envelope that's a little larger - yes, the envelope is included in the template.
The card is easy to make - and uses three A4 or Letter-sized sheets of cardstock (that includes the envelope) to cut on the standard Cricut sticky mat (not the specialist card mat).
The card cuts flat, so we need to add a score line in the middle to fold it, and also to create the fold lines for the envelope. This is easy to do on your Cricut if you have a scoring tool - or you can score manually with a blunt point like a knitting needle if you don't have a scoring tool or prefer not to use it. I have full instructions for how to set up the score lines correctly for this project in Cricut Design Space on this page - you may also find it useful if you're using another make of cutting machine. That page also discusses choosing your scoring tool, and scoring manually, if you need those. Find all that here...
Once your 50th birthday card is cut, I have a craft tutorial here to help you fold and assemble the card and envelope...
I thought I'd share some more photos of both 50th birthday card templates for you, just below, to help inspire you as to colour ideas - I normally make each card template that I design in two different colourways to help give you different ideas for colours - so on this page you've got four different colour ideas in total for these two cards...
I'll also let you know which cardstocks and cutting settings I've used, just in case that's helpful for you...
I decided to make the stars card template in more traditionally masculine colours and the floral card template in more traditionally feminine colours - although the beauty of making your own handmade cards is that you get to choose the perfect colours for the 50th birthday boy or girl!
The template for the floral 50th birthday card template is in orange and white with a yellow envelope - I wanted something bright and cheerful for a celebratory feel - but also quite a sophisticated style, even while it's fun!
For this card (see photo below), I used:
My alternative colour idea for the floral card design is this pretty lilac and white card (see photo above). I thought it had a more feminine and delicate feel about it than the orange - decidedly pretty!
For this card, I used:
My template for the stars birthday card template is blue and green with a softer grey/blue envelope - see the photo above. I deliberately wanted this design to be a unisex or male design (it's definitely still for women too!) so I chose more traditionally masculine colours for this card.
I picked a nice simple blue and teamed it up with a lovely lime green inner card with an ombre effect that is only slightly noticeable here in the photo. I decided to keep the envelope a simple grey/blue since I'd used such a bright inner card.
I think the effect is still masculine (but not exclusively so) but still fun and celebratory with the lovely bright green inside!
For this card, I used:
My alternative colour idea for the stars-design 50th birthday card are the beautiful neutrals that you can see in the photo above. I wanted something really simple and subtle - but I love how the tan that I chose for the outer card has a hint of golden stars - and I think the whole colour palette has a lovely really earthy, natural feel to it.
For this card, I used:

Please double-check that you're selecting the correct card template - due to the digital nature of the templates, if you only notice you've selected the wrong one after downloading the file, I won't be able to refund you. So please just take an extra moment now to make sure!
