Dog Birthday Card Template for Cricut

Whether it's a card for the dog, from the dog, or for a dog-lover, I hope you'll love my cute dog face birthday card template for Cricut and other cutting machines...

I designed this card for my brother's birthday and I hand-drew the little dog to make him adorable and cute - perfect to wish someone special a very happy birthday.

The birthday card template uses three A4 or Letter-sized sheets of cardstock (which includes the envelope) and is made on the standard Cricut sticky mat (not the specialist card mat)...

You'll need to use the cut and score function on your cutting machine to add score lines to the card and envelope (or delete the score lines if you choose to score by hand). Don't worry, this is easy to do and I give you full instructions (plus options for choosing a scoring tool and details on scoring by hand) all on this webpage - the instructions are intended for Cricut users, but if you have another type of cutting machine, they should help you understand the process and translate it to your own cutting machine...

Cut and score dog face birthday card template - SVG, DXF, EPS, PNG

The card template makes a 12 x 12 cm (approx. 3.75 x 3.75 inches) finished birthday card with an envelope that's just slightly larger.

Cute and colourful puppy dog card template

The template for the dog birthday card is in the colours you can see in the two images above. Orange/rust for the outer card with the main design - a white inner card, and a fun yellow envelope.

I chose these colours as I wanted a kind of 'dog-coloured' card, so I chose the ginger-brown cardstock and added a white inner card for good contrast. I thought the yellow envelope makes it cheerful and it gives a warm, happy feel to the card - just like a fun and happy dog!

I also like to make an alternative colour design for my cards - the one for the dog birthday card template is a teal/green with a white inner card and a bright blue envelope - see the image just below...

Alternative colour idea for the card - blue and teal

Just like the yellow and orange colour idea above, the teal/green and blue card idea was one I thought that my brother would be happy to receive - I think it gives a nice contemporary style to the card and the cooler tones are a good alternative to the warmer tones of the orange card, to give you a couple of ideas for your own card make...

There's lots of other colours you could choose - you could go more neutral if you liked, or make it much more feminine with pinks and pastel tones. Get creative with it and have some fun!

Dog birthday card template for you!

For both cards, I've used my Cricut Maker and:

• Cricut cardstock (from the Jewel tone pack) for both outer cards - cut using the 'Cardstock for intricate cuts' setting in Cricut Design Space

• Eastlight Premium white lightweight cardstock (160 gsm) for both inner cards - cut using the 'Light cardstock' setting

• Generic coloured crafting card (lightweight, 160 gsm) for both envelopes - cut using the 'Light cardstock' setting
