Easter Card Templates

I designed these two new Easter card templates to make with your Cricut (or other similar cutting machine) - or you can also cut by hand, if you prefer.

The cards are made in a cute square shape, with inner card to show off the intricately cut design in the outer card, and an envelope to fit.

I've designed the cards so that you can make them from A4 or Letter-sized sheets of cardstock (you'll need three sheets to make the card and envelope).

'Easter Bunnies' papercut card design

The cards are easy to make - you will need to cut and score both the inner and outer card and the envelope. You should be able to score with your cutting machine. The full instructions are on this page - they're written for Cricut users, but I think if you use another type of cutting machine you will find them useful to understand how to set everything up. On that same page, I also talk about how to cut and score manually, if you prefer to do that.

'Happy Easter' papercut card template

The completed card measures 12 x 12 cm (approx. 4.7 x 4.7 inches) with an envelope that's a little larger.

You make the card using the standard Cricut mat (not the specialist card mat).

My card templates have been test-cut with my Cricut Maker. You can see below my colour ideas and different cardstocks I used, as well as the settings for the cutting machine...

The template for my Easter Bunnies card is the white/cream and yellow one (white outer card) - I wanted to keep my colour ideas very Spring-like and 'Eastery' so yellow was the obvious colour choice (which I also chose for my 'Happy Easter' card so that they'd both match on this page).

Make sure you have enough contrast between the outer and inner card so that it's easy to see the design - if the yellow had been too pale on either the inner card or the outer card in both of these examples above, I don't think the design would've stood out as well, so watch out for that when you're making your colour choices...

Green also seems a great choice for both envelopes, too - note how one green is a lot brighter than the other and it does change the overall look of the card. I think any other Spring-like pretty pastel colours would also work well for the card and/or envelopes.

Both of my Easter bunnies cards have been made with:

• Sizzix 'Surfacez' textured cardstock for the outercard - cut with 'Cardstock for intricate cuts' setting in Cricut Design Space
• Generic crafting paper (160 gsm) for the inner card and envelope (white and coloured) - cut with 'Medium cardstock' setting

'Happy Easter' Card Template

Yellow is such an obvious colour for Easter that I stuck with it for my 'Happy Easter' card design too! The template included is the white/cream outer card with yellow inner card. You can get creative with the colours for your own Easter card crafting, if you like, though, and try other Easter colours instead! Pretty pastels are always a winner, or you might find your own unique colour combination that wows!
