Flowers are one of my all-time favourite things to draw - so I loved drawing these floral heart SVG designs - and I was excited to finally get to make them into SVGs and see how they looked cut in cardstock.
I originally envisaged them as a single-layer design - but once I'd made them, I just couldn't resist adding some layers to make them multi-coloured and even more beautiful!
If you just want a simple, single layer design, you can certainly use just the intricate top layer - I think they'd look beautiful as a papercut, in a light wood, or in vinyl - you could also create a stencil for paints, engraving or pyrography gel - get your craft on!
You can also use all three of the layers to get a multicolour look - or just two if you prefer...
I wanted to make the designs very versatile so that you could use them in different ways, that suit your own personal craft project.
I want to introduce you to both designs in more detail, now (below), so that you can get to know them a bit better and decide which would suit your project best - I've also got some colour ideas that I hope will inspire you for your own crafting...
There are two designs (available separately) - they're both floral heart SVG designs, so to distinguish them, I've called them:
See them both below - I'm showing you just the top layer to make the difference in design easier to see...
I'm going to share more photos of both designs in the two sections below - but before I do so, just some more info about both of the designs and the photos that I'm sharing:
I'll start with the 'Swirly floral heart design just below - if you just want to see the 'Ditsy' one, you can find it in the section just below that...
The photo above shows the colours provided in the template - a dark blue/black for the top layer, pale pink for the middle layer and a mid-tone blue-grey for the bottom layer - I think the colours are pretty, quite classic, and could be used for lots of different projects and ideas...
The photo above shows the standard colours from the template switched out with the background blue-grey replaced with a zingy lime green - see how it immediately becomes brighter with a more tropical look!
Here's another look for the 'Swirly' floral heart SVG template (above) - with beautiful blues and greens - a very dark green for the intricate top layer, a pale middle layer, and blue-grey for the background layer - this emphasises the idea of foliage and looks quite calm and relaxing...
And here (above) are some two-colour ideas, using the same colours we already cut, just to experiment and play with...
Along with the floral heart design cut in the single layer (photos below) as I think it looks lovely like this too - and it might be the best for your craft project...

If you like this design (above), you might also like that I made it into a shadow box template too - see it here..!
The photo above shows the colours used in the floral heart SVG template - a black for the top layer, blue-grey for the middle layer and a lovely pink-red for the bottom layer... you can, of course, make your own floral heart in whichever colours you choose, and I hope some of the alternate colour ideas below will help to inspire you...
The pink and red cardstock colours (above and below) is quite a romantic look, and perfect if you're making the floral heart templates for Valentine's Day or another romantic occasion.
I also tried out the pink and black colour combination with a gold (mustard yellow/tan) background, which I think is another nice effect...
I think that for all of these colour combinations, do look for contrast, especially between the top and middle layers - so using light and dark colours, in whichever order work really well, and use the mid-tone for the middle colour...
But this certainly isn't a hard and fast rule, so please do put your creative hat on and have a little experiment and find what works for you!
