This is a birthday card template for keen golfers - because I know that it's nice to make friends and family cards that feel personal to their hobbies and past-times...
And golf is so popular a sport!
So this golf birthday card template is special and is just for the golfers out there!
The golfing card template is made from flat sheets of cardstock (using the Cricut standard mat, not the specialist card mat that cuts onto pre-bought folded cards) - so you'll need three sheets of A4 or letter-sized cardstock to make the card and envelope.
The card will end up around 12 x 12 cm (approximately 4.75 x 4.75 inches) - and the envelope is a little larger.
Because the card is cut flat, we need to add the score lines to make it fold easily. These are included in my card template, but you will need to know how to set them up properly in Cricut Design Space so that everything cuts and scores as it's supposed to...
Don't worry - as there's step-by-step instructions here for that - the instructions are for setting everything up in Cricut Design Space - but the steps are likely the same (or very similar) for other cutting machines, so please do take a look, even if you're not using a Cricut, as I think you'll find the instructions helpful.
If you want to score by hand, that same page covers that too, as well as discussing choosing a scoring tool for your Cricut.
And once the card is cut and scored, I have a short tutorial to help you fold and assemble the card - that's right here...
The main colour I chose for the golfing birthday card SVG template is green for the outer card, with a white inner card and pale blue envelope - you can see that in the image of the template above and the photo of my made card below...
I thought this green was the perfect colour for my golfing card template as it reminded me of the green of the grass on the golf course - likewise the pale blue envelope looks like the blue sky, so I thought it was a great combination for the golfing theme!
I always like to make a card in an alternative colour combination - and the one I chose for the golfer's card template is this bright and cheerful orange, with a white inner card and a bold yellow envelope.
I thought the orange was a great outdoorsy and active colour - while also looking cheerful and celebratory for a birthday!
If you don't like these colour combinations, though, there's lots more you could choose from - a teal blue outer card would also look great I think! You could also choose a neutral colour for the outer card and add something bold and colourful for the inner card. Go to town with the envelope, or stay simple - it's up to you!
Both of these cards on this page have been made with my Cricut Maker and:
